I'm 99% sure that the train can be used in Multiplayer as well. Maybe it's just a bug that causes the setting to not appear. I know for a fact that the train was usable in FS17 in multiplayer so it would only make sense if it was usable here too. You cannot tab to the train. However you can use the train. Yeah, I hate those little gotchas like not allowing LAN play unless you get special server deamon. It's not unheard of for game to have direct IP option or local LAN browse play.
